"I decided to take a literal approach when tasked with a creative project for my "Medicine and Music" class. I painted my professor, Dr. Trent Myers, to symbolize the medicinal component. The record is the musical component. The true art is the hidden meaning under this piece. The record that was chosen was Dr. Myers’ favorite album. One of the songs on the album is the song Dr. Myers would sing to his son every night. In the heart of a family, medicine soothes physical ailments, while music nurtures emotional bonds, creating a sanctuary of healing and joy."

"I made this quilt using a paper piecing technique, where every colored block has a different design. I also created the same blocks out of white and gray fabrics to create a shadowed illusion of the colored block. Most blocks have 3-4 of the same design but use different fabric choices. This quilt took me four months to make. I then custom quilted it on my longarm quilting machine."
