ABOVE: Donors, alumni, students, faculty and family members came together to celebrate the 124 scholarships awarded during the Achievers of Excellence ceremony.

The 2025-26 Achievers of Excellence Scholarship Awards Program was held Friday, Oct. 24, at the UMKC Student Union. At this year’s program, 124 scholarships (totaling $131,625) were awarded in celebration of academic excellence, leadership, service and dedication to advancing the pharmacy profession. The School of Pharmacy sincerely thanks its generous donors, alumni and community partners whose support makes these achievements possible and helps shape the next generation of innovative and compassionate healthcare leaders.

Community Pharmacist Receives Alumni Achievement Award

Erica Mahn receives the Alumni Achievement Award from Dean Russell Melchert.

Erica Mahn (Pharm.D. ’12) was named the 2025 School of Pharmacy Alumni Achievement Award winner. She is currently the executive director of Community Pharmacy Services for Alps Pharmacies in Springfield, Nixa and Anderson, Missouri.

Mahn joined the Alps Pharmacy team in April 2012, directly after completing pharmacy school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus. Alps has expanded from its single location in Springfield to five pharmacies of varying specialties, with Mahn at the helm of the three community locations.

In 2015, Mahn developed a PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency program to provide additional training for pharmacy graduates. She was awarded the Pharmacist Making a Difference award from the Missouri Pharmacy Association in 2018, the UMKC Preceptor of the Year award in 2019 for the Springfield campus, the American Pharmacists Association’s Immunization Champion Award in 2020 and was recognized as one of the 20 Most Influential Women by the Springfield Business Journal in 2024.
